Famous Quotations on Words

Words indeed have power. My favourite quotations on words:

1. "Words are free. It's how you use them that may cost you."

2. "Be mindful when it comes to your words. A string of some that don't mean much to you, may stick with someone else for a lifetime."

3. "Two hearts in love need no words."

4. "Integrity is the most valuable and respected quality of leadership. Always keep your word."

5. "Words are all we have."

6. "Don't mix bad words with your bad mood. You'll have many opportunities to change a mood, but you'll never get the opportunity to replace the words you spoke."

4 Tips for Computer Eye Strain Relief

1. To ease eye strain, make sure you use good lighting and sit at a proper distance from the computer screen.

2. Take frequent breaks. During your computer breaks, stand up, move about and stretch your arms, legs, back, neck and shoulders to reduce tension and muscle fatigue.

3. During breaks, splash water on your face while closing your eyes. This has an overall relaxing effect and helps you feel refreshed.

4. Use re-wetting eye drops. You can use re-wetting eye drops as and when required. Avoid eye drops with preservatives.

My Favourite Quotes for Job Seekers

1. "Success consists of going from failure to failure without loss of enthusiasm."

3. "Take risks: if you win, you will be happy; if you lose, you will be wise."

4. "Success doesn’t come to you, you go to it."

5. "It is never too late to be what you might have been."

6. "Combined with passion and perseverance, identifying and leveraging your strengths and aptitudes is the key to any career path."

7. "When one door closes, another opens; but we often look so long and so regretfully upon the closed door that we do not see the one which has opened for us."

8. "Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life."

9. "Whatever you can do, or dream you can... begin it; boldness has genius, power and magic in it."

10. "While most are dreaming of success, winners wake-up and work hard to achieve it."

Life Does Not Remain The Same Always

It has been a long time since I've made my last post. You must be wondering what has been keeping me busy and preventing me from making any further post. Well, friends, life does NOT remain the same always and forces us to deviate from our regular course of actions. No, I wasn't enjoying a holiday, nor was I overburdened with work. All I can say is that I'm back here, and you will get to see more posts in the forms of articles, news and information on a regular basis. So, keep coming back to my blog to remain informed and updated. Smile and have a wonderful day. Happy New Year!!

I Had An Accident

I am extremely sorry for not publishing any new post in my blog for the last few months.

In April, I had an accident while driving. I was immediately hospitalized and had to undergo surgery. A session of physiotherapy followed. Hence, I could not work on the computer. I would like to apologize again for any inconvenience this may have caused.

I am fine now and have resumed work. From now onwards, new posts will be published as frequently as before.

A Final Tribute To Corey

As you know, Corey Rudl recently passed away, and I was hoping you might help me honor his memory...

In exchange for your support, you will get a FREE copy
of Corey's "Ultimate Seminar Videos"(a set of 3 DVDs).

Anyway - Corey was pretty much the KING of Internet marketing.

He'd generated over $40 Million in online sales... His web
sites get over 1.8 Million visitors per month... He was a
world-class speaker..

But I think what makes Corey really unique is that he helped
literally THOUSANDS of people change their lives forever by
starting profitable Internet businesses of their very own..

That's why, when I heard the news I'm about to share with you,
I was really pleased, and knew I wanted to spread the word
right away...

You see, Derek Gehl, Corey's close friend and right-hand man
(and now CEO of Corey's company) has been spending a lot of
time thinking about how to best celebrate Corey's life and
work before he starts moving the company forward again.

And here's what he's come up with...

Until Saturday, July 15th at midnight, he's going to donate
$50.00 from every purchase of Corey's #1 best-selling Internet
marketing course, just updated and released in May for 2005,
to a special charity that helps young people from low-income
families improve their business, academic, and life skills
(The National Foundation for Teaching Entrepreneurship
-- http://www.nfte.com).

And as "thanks" for contributing, he's not only going to
give everyone the entire $1,213.00 worth of FREE bonus gifts
that Corey originally promised with this new course, he's ALSO
going to throw in a FREE copy of Corey's "Ultimate Seminar
Videos" with every purchase (a $97 value, but yours at
absolutely no cost).

I *really* want to encourage you to take part in this special
tribute...

Not only will the course help you dramatically increase your
Internet income (or finally START that Internet business
you keep talking about) -- using the SAME strategies
Corey personally used to make over $40 Million in online
sales...

...You'll also help raise money for a special charity that
I know Corey would have been really excited about.

So if you'd like a "Tribute Edition" of Corey's "Insider
Secrets -- Version 2005,"
please visit:

http://www.marketingtips.com/limitededition/t/816163

... And remember, you'll get a FREE copy of Corey's
"Ultimate Seminar Videos," and Derek will donate $50.00 of
the purchase price to the National Foundation for Teaching
Entrepreneurship.

I hope you enjoy the course and free DVDs... And thanks -
this would mean a lot to Corey. I had a lot of respect for
the guy.

As part of this special tribute, Derek has left this
web page almost EXACTLY as Corey wrote it in May, just before
he passed away... He's just added a bit of text about the
charity you'll be helping and the free DVDs you'll be
getting as "thanks" for your support.

Check it out at:

Enjoyable Weekend

After a thoroughly enjoyable weekend, it is again Monday today. But, instead of feeling the Monday morning blue, I'm absolutely rejuvenated and fresh, looking forward to the week ahead. Actually, due to tremendous workload, I could not catch up with my family and friends for a long time. So, this weekend, I made it a point to meet them over lunch. We had a sumptuous meal and then went to watch the latest block-buster. Good food, great movie, and a heart-to-heart chat with my friends and family were the perfect ingredients to make my weekend so successful.

Tragic News About Corey Rudl

I am shocked to learn about Internet Marketer Corey Rudl's sudden demise. He has passed away in an auto-racing accident. Corey, familiar to everybody as webmaster of the "Internet Marketing Center", was one of the first millionaire Internet marketers, providing advice and helping people to start and grow Internet businesses. It is with a heavy hand and heartfelt regrets that I write to express my profound sympathies and deepest condolences to his entire family and team at The Internet Marketing Center for the tragic incident.

Access Your PC From The Road

On the surface, here's what this article is all about:

1. It shows you an easy and proven way to access your
computer while on the road... without lugging a laptop.

2. It details a way you can hold virtual meetings and
collaborate with others over the net.

Access Your PC From The Road

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

Have you ever sat in front of your computer and wished you
could show someone else what appeared on your screen?

Maybe you were experiencing a problem, or couldn't figure
out how to make something work, but you knew if someone
else could see what was happening on your screen, they
could help you fix the problem immediately.

Ever had a phone conversation with someone about a
particular business topic, but you just couldn't "connect"
with your ideas because it was too hard to explain over the
phone?

Now, visualize jumping on the phone with that same person
and literally sharing your computer's desktop to
collaborate, discuss, and create virtually anything
together, even if you are separated by thousands of miles.

Though this may sound like an episode of Star Trek, remote
computer sharing is actually a daily business reality.

Imagine you need to take a trip and you either don't want
to or can't take your computer.

The thought of emails piling up for days makes you crazy
and you also need to monitor some things on your pc.

Instead of trying to lug your laptop (or fit your desktop
into your suitcase), you can use "remote desktop" software
that allows you to access your computer through the
Internet from any other computer in the world.

One of the most common remote desktop services is
GoToMyPC.com, which provides a safe and secure way for you
to go down to the local internet café, log on, and access
your office or home computer just like sitting at your own
desk.

Now, before you panic and think anyone can access your
computer, let me explain security.

First, you log in to the GoToMyPC.com website with a
username and password.

Once logged in, you then click a link to log onto your PC,
which will then ask you for another password.

GoToMyPC.com has even thought of a solution for those of
you worried about people looking over your shoulder as you
enter your passwords on a public computer or if the
computer you use might carry a keystroke logger.

Before leaving home, you can program in a series of up to
99 passwords that only work one time.

This means even if someone watches you log into your
computer or records your keystrokes, the password you used
won't work again.

If a would-be thief tries to access your computer too many
times, GoToMyPC.com will shut down all access attempts to
your PC.

The benefits of remotely accessing your PC from the road
are numerous, but the bottom line is that it enables you to
use your computer from the road like you never left home.

For example: while traveling to a conference this weekend,
my wife (and business partner) accessed our office computer
from my laptop and, instead of the usual pile of 4,000
emails that would normally await after 5 days away, we just
picked up this morning like we'd never been gone.

The same company that offers GoToMyPC.com also offers a
service called GoToMeeting.com which allows you to remotely
host a meeting where multiple users can share and
collaborate on a single computer desktop.

This service makes it super simple to provide online
training, do software demos, and even make complete sales
presentations.

I personally use both of these services and find them easy,
reliable and well worth the price.

The Kolkata Book Fair

Every winter, a gala event called Book Fair is held in Kolkata, India. A sprawling ground is turned into a fair with makeshift stalls housing thousands and thousands of books from across the globe. A special theme is selected each time, and this year it was France. A specific area is donated in the ground, where works of literature and art from that particular region are displayed, and authors and eminent personalities from the same place are felicitated. Along with this, publishers and booksellers from all over the world come with their treasure to showcase and sell them.

The ambience around the fair is electrifying. It is a perfect milieu of book lovers - a common thread that binds each visitor. The people from every sphere of the society come in large number to buy books, browse through them, and generally to feel the overall atmosphere. They wait in long queues to enter into their favourite stall, without ever losing patience – such is the magic of this print medium.

There are books of varied taste and subjects. Literary works, scientific works, historical writings, biographies; books on art, culture, electronics, computers, business, law, cookery, fashion and beauty – you name it and it is there. Hence, a very cerebral crowd , comprising of writers, poets, intellectuals, students, teachers, scientists, entrepreneurs, all gather here on this common platform. They throng the stalls, sit on the ground, interact with each other and share their views. From these thought-provoking discussions, germ of a new idea for books, poetries or cinemas evolve.

Sometimes, different groups of young generation bring along their guitars and drums and hum songs on their own creation. As the evenings set in, the bright lights are put on and the voices and songs intermingle with one another; the entire ground gets transported to a mystic world.

The minds soak in this intoxicating and enriching experience, the impression of which is everlasting. But as every good thing must come to an end, with a heavy heart and a lump in the throat, one bids farewell to this very special event called Book Fair, which is actually a celebration of true spirit.

Get All Your Answers

Do you ever feel that another website has copied the text from your website and how you would know it? Do you wish to surf the Internet while you sleep? Do you want keyword-specific information and articles to post in your blog? You will get all your answers from Jim Edwards. He has come up with a very nice article, which I think you'll really enjoy reading. Here it is:

Cool Websites Everyone Should Bookmark

Often I find websites that offer interesting, innovative,
or just plain cool stuff that doesn't quite rate a stand-
alone article, but several of them together will get you
jumping all over your computer to check them out.

** Copyright Thieves Beware **

A free service at www.copyscape.com allows you to see if
anyone out on the Web has copied the text from your website
and to what degree.

Just enter the url of your webpage, article, or blog post,
hit the submit button and the site will show you if another
website contains substantially the same text as your page.

If you get a hit, then click the links provided to go to
the sites that may have copied you and see highlighted text
that matches your site.

The free service on the home page only displays 10 results,
and if you want to see more, you can pay $10-20 a month and
the service will monitor your web pages and let you know of
everyone who copies them.

A positive use for this tool I thought of for anyone who
operates an online business: put in your competitors' url
where they display the ads, articles, and other tools they
give their affiliates, and see who links to them.

They may have active affiliates posting their content (with
permission of course) and you may find some great potential
partners to help you promote your business.

Another way you can watch for this type of activity is by
signing up for alerts at Google.

Go to http://www.google.com/alerts/ and enter in your name,
product title, article title, or some specific keyword
combination that would tip you off that someone had taken
your stuff (or was posting your competitors' material).

You can then receive an update with links any time Google
finds a new reference to your keyword phrase.

** Surf While You Sleep **

One of the disadvantages of surfing the web, especially
with a 56K modem, involves the fact that your browser
doesn't allow you to easily and selectively download
content from the World Wide Web.

For anyone who ever experiences this frustration, here
comes GetBot to the rescue!

Available at http://www.getbot.com/, this handy little program
allows you to surf individual sites, view all the page
titles, see all the website links, both internal and
external, and decide which pictures and pages you want
before downloading.

Should you desire to download an entire site, you can set
the program to run before going to bed. When you wake up
the next morning all the information will already reside on
your computer, making for a fast and pleasant perusal of
all the material.

Getbot comes as shareware with limited functionality, which
means you can try the program for free, but if you decide
to keep it, or want all the features, then you must pay $19.

On the bad side, it's a memory hog, so be prepared for a
restart or two when using it.

<-- SIDE NOTE *not* in newspaper column -->

GetBot is a decent starter program... but if you want
real power for downloading websites to view offline,
check out http://www.httrack.com/ I've found it to be MUCH
more versatile... and, it's 100% no cost :-)

<-- END SIDE NOTE *not* in newspaper column -->

** Keyword Specific News **

Log on to http://news.google.com/ and you can find just about any breaking news story on virtually any topic.

Though the front page is segmented into main categories
like Science, World News, Technology, and more, Google News
also allows you to search over 4,500 different news sources
for stories containing your keywords.

For example, a search for "Iraqi Elections" returned over
10,000 stories, many of them less than 5 or 6 hours old
when I did the search.

Google News also allows you to sign up for "News Alerts"
via email where the service will email you a link every
time a new story with your search criteria appears in their
database.

If you need keyword-specific information and articles to
post in your blog... this makes an excellent way to get
material sent to you the minute the news breaks.
